  • Dec 5

Dec 5 was about covenants - promises God makes to us.  We read passages from Genesis about Noah and the ark and the covenant that God made with all people with the rainbow as a sign of that promise.

This ornament was a small wooden piece already painted that we found...I just made a hole through it to turn it into an ornament.

  • Dec 4

Dec 4 was about the first sin...so we chose an apple for our ornament.  Then Samantha used green clay to make a snake that she wrapped around the apple.  The whole thing turned out huge but great!

  • Dec 3

We're contining on with our Jesse Tree devotions. We've been looking forward to them every night!

Here was Dec 3...it was about creation.  I used a wooden ball, painted it blue, add some brown and green to make continents, nailed a nail in the top, tied string on and VOILA!  Our globe ornament.  :)

Did you get your prize in the mail?

Why did you change the settings on your blog?  I can't leave you a comment anymore.  I'm 93% the same as your top one.  I don't even know what that is.  LOL

    Jesse Tree Dec 2

We started our Jesse Tree last night.  We're using this site and following their plan:
    http://www.rca.org/NETCOMMUNITY/Page.aspx?&pid=1628&srcid=1625

Earlier in the week, Samantha and I went to A.C. Moore to pick up supplies for the various ornaments that we'll be putting on the tree.  The first day we just got out our little tree and fluffed the leaves.  Then Roy read the scripture and devotion and we discussed what the root and rod and branches meant.

Afterwards we read a book...last night was Why Christmas Trees Aren't Perfect.  What a great book!  I have a whole stack of books...so the kids get a different one each night.  They're thrilled!

    Here's our tree:
